The intelligent 4.3" CANDICE-4 display is very compact and offers numerous interfaces. Conventional plugs would not allow for such a compact design and, moreover, not all interfaces would be able to be brought out. Therefore, the CANDICE-4 offers a robust central connector to which a connection board can be docked. Only the signals required for the application are brought out. For example, depending on the measurement task, you wire the power supply and two CAN interfaces.
It often makes sense to lay an approx. 1 m long cable from the display down into the footwell. From there the interfaces are contacted using standard connectors.
If you want to build your own cable, use the empty connection plate (already 1 × included with CANDICE-4). This is easy to work with: due to its rectangular shape, it can easily be folded into a laboratory vise. The strain relief is provided by cable clamps. Now you can solder the leads (preferably the shorter ones first) to the pads.
